Usually we just come and play, but this year we used the Calder House for a business retreat. The house and living space is large enough to accommodate 6 people comfortably and the view is outstanding. Besides business, we squeezed in hikes to the beach, photography, ping-pong, x-box and lots of food made in the spacious kitchen. Thanks for sharing your lovely Calder House with us!

The home is lovely in rain or shine. Easy access to the beach and great views from the house. The Bloomer Estates staff was particularly helpful this time with making a change in our reservation at the last minute.
We love the quiet beauty of Long Beach and plan on returning to this spacious home again.

WE HAD THREE GENERATIONS AND THERE WAS FUN FOR ALL. MY GRANDSONS WIFE HAD NEVER SPENT MORE THAN 15 MINUTES AT THE PACIFICE OCEAN. SHE MUST HAD WALKED MILES EVERYDAY. THE VIEW FROM THE WINDOWS WAS SO PRETTY. IT WAS SO QUIET AND PEACEFUL. THE SOUND OD THE OCEAN . GOOD TIME BY ALL

Five of us stayed for four nights at the Calder Beach House. It was a really relaxing time in the beautiful house on the beach. Plenty to do inside, but more important a short walk to the beach. It was great to see the pelicans diving for fish and the marsh hawks flying over the dunes. A family of deer was in the neighborhood as well.

After a lifetime of visits to the Long Beach peninsula where my grandparents lived, I still haven't tired of the ocean beach and all the recreational opportunities in the area. And in all these years, I have never stayed in such a lovely, private location
out in the dunes with an unobstructed view of the ocean waves. The Calder House is quiet, spacious and well-furnished, but it's really the location that you'll love. I'd recommend this rental to families and also to individuals seeking a quiet retreat. A wonderful
home base to explore the entire area and close enough to the beach for several visits a day, but most would be perfectly content to sit on the porch and enjoy the view.

Fabulous location and view. The house was clean and had amenities such as video games and ping pong that proved to be a lot of fun. Unfortunately, the drums for Rock Band were broken and sat teasingly in the closet. I would recommend removing them or fixing them.

The kitchen layout is fabulous and well-stocked for the most part. The can opener and vegetable peeler need to be replaced, as they really don't work well (we had to take a knife to a can of beans we were trying to open). A blender would be a nice addition to the kitchen for things like smoothies, sauces, and soups.

One more feature that would make the place even better would be the addition of a hot-tub...especially for star-gazing and listening to the ocean in warmth.

Overall, we had a fabulous stay and look forward to returning again next year. Thank you!

If check out is at 11, then have your cleaning people be there at 11 or later. Do not need anybody showing up early an waiting in the driveway until we leave. Other than that perfect time and place.
